Drawing on real accounting and finance use cases, participants will learn how AI can streamline month-end close activities, automate document processing, develop financial models, generate board-ready narratives, and even build applications through natural language prompts.
Through live demonstrations, interactive exercises, and collaborative problem-solving, attendees will gain practical experience using AI as a strategic business partner rather than simply a productivity tool. The workshop also explores emerging AI concepts, risks and governance considerations, and what the future of AI-enabled finance organizations may look like.
After participating in this session, attendees will be able to:
- Identify high-impact accounting and finance processes that can be enhanced through AI-driven workflows.
- Differentiate between AI tools and determine when to use conversational AI, automation assistants, or AI-powered coding solutions for specific business needs.
- Apply AI to common accounting tasks, including reconciliations, variance analysis, month-end close documentation, and financial memo preparation.
- Use AI to automate data extraction, document processing, and workflow execution across multiple business applications
- Develop and modify driver-based financial models, scenario analyses, and forecasting solutions using AI-assisted techniques.
- Create more effective board, management, and investor communications by transforming financial data into clear business narratives with AI support
- Explain key emerging AI concepts, including agents, context windows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), model context protocols (MCP), and token-based processing.
- Evaluate key AI risks, including hallucinations, privacy concerns, prompt injection, data leakage, governance challenges, and security considerations.
- Design practical AI use cases and workflows that can be implemented within their own accounting or finance functions.
- Assess the future role of AI in finance and develop strategies to remain effective in an increasingly AI-enabled profession
